Profile scope
The profile covers assets located within Deir ez-Zor Governorate on both sides of the Euphrates, stating location, operator, and relevant governance-change dates. National figures or Al-Hasakah field data are not assigned to Deir ez-Zor merely because they appear in the same northeast Syria report.
Electricity and service infrastructure
The sources used do not provide a current and integrated series for supply, load, or substation condition in the governorate. Future records must separate public-grid electricity from energy used in fields, processing plants, pumping, and water services.
Oil and gas
Reuters documented on 18 January 2026 a change in control over the Omar oil field and Conoco gas field, while later reporting described major damage and the need for organized rehabilitation. These facts are recorded as governance and recovery context; reported production values are not accepted as official indicators without operator reconciliation.
Pollution and operational risks
Assessment must cover flaring, spills, informal processing, crude transport, and impacts on soil, water, and health. A geolocated and dated incident register with material type is required instead of combining scattered narratives into one unverifiable value.
