Damascus
A reference profile for Damascus Governorate focused on electricity, distributed energy, and data gaps. This version contains no governorate-level numerical indicators because no sufficiently current, open, and documented series was identified for publication.
Rif Dimashq
A reference profile for Rif Dimashq Governorate focused on power plants and networks, industrial areas, distributed energy, and urban and rural demand. The current baseline includes Deir Ali Power Plant and Deir Ali II Expansion, while maintaining a distinction between nominal capacity and actual operating status. Listed capacities are not a measure of current available capacity.
Aleppo
A reference profile for Aleppo Governorate focused on electricity, regional interconnection, distributed energy, and infrastructure rehabilitation needs. The current baseline includes Aleppo Thermal Power Plant and Tishreen Dam. Listed capacities are nominal/reference capacities from the platform dataset, not current available or operating capacity.
Homs
A reference profile for Homs Governorate covering the electricity system, industrial facilities, oil and gas assets, refining, and rehabilitation needs. The current baseline includes Jandar Thermal Power Plant and its expansion, as well as the Homs Wind Pilot Farm. The profile distinguishes nominal capacity, available capacity, and actual operation; the figures listed here are nominal/reference capacities only.
Hama
A reference profile for Hama Governorate focused on the electricity network, agricultural and water loads, distributed energy, and asset condition. The current baseline includes Al-Zara, Mhardeh Thermal Power Plant, and Mahardah Hydro Plant. Listed capacities are nominal/reference capacities, not a measure of current available or operating capacity.
Latakia
A reference profile for Latakia Governorate focused on electricity, energy for coastal and public facilities, distributed systems, and coastal environmental risks. The current baseline includes Al-Rasteen power plant with a nominal capacity of 526 MW. This figure does not necessarily represent current available capacity or actual operation.
Tartus
A reference profile for Tartus Governorate focused on electricity, Baniyas refinery and port, petroleum transport and storage, energy for coastal services, and environmental risks. The current baseline includes Baniyas Thermal Power Plant and its expansion. Listed capacities are nominal/reference capacities, not current operating capacity.
Idlib
A reference profile for Idlib Governorate focused on electricity-supply arrangements, distributed solar, and energy for essential services. The historical baseline includes Zayzoun Thermal Power Plant with a nominal capacity of 505 MW; the platform dataset notes that it was destroyed in 2015. This capacity is not presented as current operating capacity.
Raqqa
A reference profile for Raqqa Governorate focused on the electricity–water–dam–agriculture nexus and rehabilitation of networks and services. The current baseline includes Tabqa (Al-Thawra) Dam and Baath Dam with their nominal hydropower capacities. These capacities do not represent current actual generation or available capacity.
Deir ez-Zor
A reference profile for Deir ez-Zor Governorate focused on oil and gas fields, associated infrastructure, electricity and services, and environmental risks. The current baseline includes Al-Taym Power Plant with a nominal capacity of 102 MW. This figure should not be treated as current operating capacity without updated technical verification.
Al-Hasakah
A reference profile for Al-Hasakah Governorate focused on oil and gas, local electricity, energy for water and agriculture, and environmental impacts of petroleum infrastructure. The current baseline includes Al-Swedieh Power Plant with a nominal capacity of 150 MW. The listed capacity is a reference figure and does not imply that the full capacity is currently available or operating.
